The label
Transcribed, not paraphrased
Most stock this desk handles arrives with a bottle render and no panel. This one arrived with a flat label layout that can be read at full size.
Amount per serving
The box
Serving size, servings, and the only two numbers
| Line | As printed |
|---|---|
| Serving Size | 1 ml |
| Servings Per Container | 60 |
| Chromium (as chromium picolinate) | 0.7 mcg · 2% Daily Value |
| Proprietary Blend | 200 mg · dagger: Daily Value not established |
| Individual blend weights | Not published |
| Total caffeine | Not published |
| Extract standardisation | Not published |
Two numbers, 0.7 mcg and 200 mg, and one percentage. NIH gives the chromium Daily Value as 35 mcg for adults and children age 4 and older, so 2% is arithmetically correct. The dagger on the blend line is the label telling you, truthfully, that no Daily Value exists for what is inside it.

That order is the most informative thing on the label after the two numbers. 21 CFR 101.36(c)(2) requires the members of a proprietary blend to be declared in descending order of predominance by weight. If the order is descending and the whole blend is 200 mg, the member in position n cannot weigh more than 200/n milligrams. Every figure of that kind on this site is a ceiling. It is the most an ingredient could possibly be, not the amount that is in the bottle, and the real amount could be very much smaller. The staircase of every one of those ceilings is drawn on the ingredients page.
The regulation
21 CFR 101.36(c)
The two sentences the whole page turns on
A proprietary blend lets a manufacturer declare a group of ingredients as one weight instead of naming each amount. It is a real allowance in the Code of Federal Regulations, not a loophole somebody found.
21 CFR 101.36(c)(2), on how blend members must be listed
Dietary ingredients contained in the proprietary blend that are listed under paragraph (b)(3) of this section (i.e., 'other dietary ingredients') shall be declared in descending order of predominance by weight, in a column or linear fashion, and indented under the term 'Proprietary Blend' or other appropriately descriptive term or fanciful name.
The phrase that matters is descending order of predominance by weight. The list is heaviest first.
21 CFR 101.36(c)(3), on what the blend number means
The quantitative amount by weight specified for the proprietary blend shall be the total weight of all other dietary ingredients contained in the proprietary blend and shall be placed on the same line to the right of the term 'Proprietary Blend'
So 200 mg is the weight of all 22 together, not the weight of the first one and not a typical one.
Putting the two sentences together
If the 22 are in descending order and they weigh 200 mg in total, the member in position n cannot weigh more than 200/n milligrams: the n minus 1 members above it are each at least as heavy, so n copies of its weight would already fill the blend.
That is an upper bound and it is exact. It is also all the arithmetic gives you. Position 22 could be 9.1 mg or it could be a grain.
Below the box
The rest of the label
Other ingredients, the box, and the block
Other Ingredients. Beneath the Supplement Facts box the panel prints:
Glycerin, Water, Organic Lemon Extract, Stevia Extract 97% (Reb A), Xylitol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, and Natural Flavors.
The FDA box. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
The facility sentence. “This product has been manufactured in an FDA registered facility.” That is a statement about registration, which is a filing rather than an inspection outcome, and no registration number was supplied.
The origin line, on the left panel: “Made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients.”
Distributed By. GEX Corp, Lakeland FL 33804, telephone +1 (507) 448-8190. That is not this retailer. For anything to do with an order placed here the number is +1 (925) 231-0148.
Storage and caution, verbatim
Storage. Keep away from heat, light, and humidity to preserve freshness.
Caution. Do not exceed recommended dose. Pregnant or nursing mothers, children under the age of 18 and individuals with a known medical condition should consult a physician before using this or any dietary supplement.
And. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use if safety seal is damaged or missing. Store in a cool, dry place.
Proofreading
Four misspellings
Left exactly as the panel prints them
- Maintin for Maintain, in the first support line on the bottle front.
- mevenii for meyenii, in the maca entry at position 1 of the blend.
- gabonesis for gabonensis, in the African mango entry at position 4.
- Typtophan for Tryptophan, at position 21 of the blend.
The label artwork supplied with this stock is legible and we have transcribed it rather than paraphrasing it, misspellings included. The panel prints 'Maintin' for Maintain, 'mevenii' for meyenii, 'gabonesis' for gabonensis and 'Typtophan' for Tryptophan. We leave those as they are printed, because a site that silently corrects a label is no longer quoting it.
The seller’s own ingredient graphic spells maca’s species correctly, which means two documents from the same folder disagree about the name of the heaviest ingredient in the bottle. Where they disagree, the label is the document that had to be right.
Absent
What the panel never prints
Recorded as unpublished rather than estimated
This is the short list of things a reader might reasonably go to a label for and not find on this one. Nothing here is filled in with an estimate.
Twenty-two of the twenty-three amounts
Chromium is the only substance with a figure against its name. The other 22 sit inside the 200 mg blend with no individual weights, which 21 CFR 101.36(c) permits.
Any total caffeine figure
Guarana and green tea both carry caffeine. No total is printed, so NIH’s 400 to 500 mg daily band cannot be applied to this bottle.
Any extract standardisation
No extract here is standardised to a marker compound, so even the ceilings cannot be converted into catechins, capsaicinoids, forskolin or glycyrrhizin.
The millilitres in one dropper
The serving is 1 ml and the directions say 1 or 2 droppers, so a bottle is 60 servings and the label does not resolve how many days that is.
A printed best-before date
Not supplied with this stock. The lot reference GEL-26/GO-3092 and certificate reference GEL-3092-26-GO are draft label values. The lot and certificate references supplied with this stock are draft label values, not laboratory proof. No certificate of analysis document has reached this desk, and a reference string is not a document.
An allergen statement
None appears on the panel. Ten seal marks arrived with this stock, and no certifying body, certificate number or audit date came with any of them.
Each of those is recorded on this site as not published. That is a weaker sentence than an estimate would be and it is the only one the document supports. The ceilings on the ingredients page are the single exception, and they are arithmetic performed on two published numbers rather than a guess at a third.
